Nature abounds with diversity, manifesting in varied shapes and hues; the human heart, with its unique individuality, radiates its own inherent beauty……
Tsang Chui Mei, a local artist from Hong Kong, resembles both natural landscapes and dreamscapes on her canvases. She infuses her works with a unique visual language and a variety of materials that evoke endless imaginations. In Tsang's artistic world, the concept of space is symbolic. She presents landscapes that are abstract and expressive, immersed with her personal emotions and thoughts, and that differ from reality. The spatial imagery contained in this exhibition portrays delicate and obscure inner landscapes, representing a tranquil and non-existent state.
Tsang Chui Mei's theme of “Mind Palette and Empty Land” comprises three parts: “different”, “colour”, and “fair”. This theme represents a marketplace constructed from infinite colours within a space that is different from the ordinary world. "Fair" not only implies a lively market, but also represents a tranquil and non-existent state, according to Tsang's description. However, it is within this state that the unique and exquisite sense of contrast becomes the highlight that distinguishes Tsang from other artists. Using material as her visual vocabulary, Tsang symbolises the forms of mountains and rocks in the wilderness with fragmented textures and colours that appear to be cracking. She also employs snow and scattered ice cubes as metaphors to represent the appearance and process of growth and decline in nature.
Deeply fascinated by the changes and disappearances in nature, Tsang Chui Mei hopes to enable the audience to perceive the elusive power and brilliance of the wild landscapes' abstract and expressive form, as well as the tranquillity and loneliness within the realm of emptiness and reality. Furthermore, Tsang aims to convey the profound connection generated by the subtle relationship between nature and humanity. Touch Gallery cordially invites you to attend Tsang Chui Mei's solo exhibition, "Mind Palette and Empty Land," to enter this space where art and nature blend, to experience the interweaving and colliding yet merging realm between art and nature, and to sense the illusory dreams at the end of the soul.
