That artist: June Ho
The first thing I asked June after seeing all those meticulously carved lino plates was if she was afraid of making a mistake while cutting them. She answered that she didn’t see imperfections as mistakes. “If you made something wrong turn it into something right.” I feel that June has a talent to make things work, turning memories into sketches and prints, saving and preserving moments, views and scenes.
P.S I also asked June why prints. She waved towards a canvas with an old unfinished painting: “Because not painting. Can’t make it work for me”.
