Glenn Ligon at Hauser&Wirth
Can’t say it better than the artist did himself: “…the things that can be said and the things that cannot be said, or the things that are difficult to say, or that remain opaque despite this will to be clear and explain”. The exhibition comprises three series of works that represent stenciled versions of James Baldwin’s essay ‘Stranger in the Village’. Smudged, covered, peeled, overpainted, torn, rubbed, stained—all the things we, humans, do with personal experiences and history.
Exhibition period: 25.03–11.05
Gallery address: G/F, 8 Queen’s Road, Central
