Exhibition “Special Characters” by Lorna Simpson at Hauser&Wirth

Exhibition “Special Characters” by Lorna Simpson at Hauser&Wirth

First known as a conceptual photographer, Lorna Simpson incorporated collage and mixed media (as well as video and sculpture) techniques to further explore themes of gender, race, and identity. I really appreciate when galleries are introducing artists that are well known in one area to another region. Personally I enjoy finding visual rhymes in their works with traditional art of that region — like these blue paintings immediately reminded me of Chinese cascade landscapes.

Exhibition period: 16.06 —30.09.20

Gallery address: 15-16/F, H Queen’s, Central
