José Parlá: Phosphene at Ben Brown Fine Arts

José Parlá: Phosphene at Ben Brown Fine Arts

A phosphene is the phenomenon of seeing light without the actual light entering the eye. The most easy way to experience phosphene is to rub or pressure your eyes. Made in a time of slow recovery after the almost deadly encounter with Covid these deeply personal paintings not only are based on some of the coma-induced visions but also evoke bodily structures like respiratory systems, capillaries filigree or optic nerve cords.

Exhibition period: 18.03—29.04
Gallery address: 2/F, The Factory, Wong Chuk Hang
