PACOWHY 1982: Drawing, painting and collage at Lucie Chang FA

Lucie Chang Fine Arts/L+ are proud to announce the first solo exhibition in Hong Kong, 18 works by PACOWHY.
His infinite worship and love for the American artist Jean-Michel Basquiat, he created and developed his own road of graffiti painting. Pacowhy's creative inspiration comes from his life and work, what he sees, hears, and dreams. The uniqueness of his work may lie in rich colors and pictures.

Familiar yet diverse tiger characters appear in the "tiger of 2022" series. This series of works is like an old man doing graffiti arts on retro streets. The overall color tone is worn and faded with a dark tone as its ending.

Aruta Soup: Mad Tea Party at Lucie Chang Fine Arts

Lucie Chang Fine Arts is pleased to present “Mad Tea Party”, a solo exhibition of a Japanese artist Aruta Soup. Featuring a new body of works, Aruta Soup is trying to get to the side of truth in a plane created by logical thought and the very primitive action – slapping a solid mass of paint on a support. Through these series of works, he hope he will be able to connect and expand the consciousness of those who receive the frequencies emitted from the paintings.

Mad Tea Party is going to open on 6 January and runs until early March 2022. This is the first exhibition of Lucie Chang Fine Arts in 2022!

Jessie Siu: The Sky Beyond The Clouds at Lucie Chang FA

L+/ Lucie Chang Fine Arts will be working with emerging artist Jessie Siu through the HKAGA open call for young art talents for the Summer Programme. Jessie Siu, a postgraduate in Philosophy of the Chinese University of Hong Kong, is a self-taught painter.

In the morning of August SouthSideSaturday, we are happy to invite yoga tutor Flora Yu to hold a morning yoga workshop in our gallery space. We will spend a wonderfully relaxing morning preparing us to embrace a brand new day. In the afternoon, a guided tour will be conducted by Jessie. You can learn more about the curatorial concepts and meaning as well as the inspirations behind the artworks. Of course, you can exchange your artistic ideas with the artist and passionate art lovers as well. In this exhibition, Hong Kong-based artist Jessie Siu examines why our mind is clouded and explores ways that clear away those clouds of greed, anger, and selfishness to uncover a state of perfection that is, and always has been, our own true nature.

L+/ Lucie Chang Fine Arts is pleased to present the duo exhibition “Pleasure Land”, showcasing two prominent graffiti artists XEME @xememex and WAIS @wais1 at the gallery’s newly opened art space in Wong Chuk Hang.

XEME has long become an eminent name, bombing the streets of Hong Kong with an ever-evolving style, from traditional tags to Chinese calligraphy to pixelated words and images. WAIS has been active in St. Petersburg and Hong Kong with his distinctive layered style in mural creation. From walls to canvas, what doesn’t change is their pursuit of excellence and innovation through playing with elements including colors, shapes, and textures.

On March 18, there is the “Meet the Artists” session from 5pm to 9pm. Don’t miss out the great chance to see the artists in person and know more about their artworks!

Exhibition period: 18/3/2021–15/5/2021
