Weird & Wonderful The Visions of Nic Gaunt at The Foreign Correspondents' Club

  • Hong Kong Hong Kong (map)

Born and raised in Sturbridge, UK. Nic's photography already showed a lot of promise when the 9 year old youngster got accepted into the Sturbridge Photographic Society, five years ahead of their joining age of 14. At the age of 12, Nic won his first award for photography - BBC Young Photographer Of The Year. After leaving school and college, Nic went on to study photography at The University for Creative Arts in Farnham in Surrey. There he met Becky/Bex his future wife and creative partner. Their shared passions eventually led them to advance their professional careers in Hong Kong, where their collaboration created the images on display. During their 10 years in Hong Kong, Nic and his wife made many friends around town. They joined the FCC and were active members of the Wall Committee. With his creative talent Nic championed many social causes with his work, particularly those with a focus on mental health and the LGBT community. Just over a year after returning to the UK, Nic Gaunt lost his battle with cancer on April 16, 2022. RIP
