LANDMARK and SAUVEREIGN are proud to present WARHOL MAKOS: ANDY LOVES HK, in collaboration with internationally acclaimed photographer, Christopher Makos, in honour of the 40th anniversary of legendary Pop artist Andy Warhol’s first and only visit to Hong Kong.
The New York-based photographer Christopher Makos and legendary Pop artist Andy Warhol were close friends and admirers of each other’s work – Makos taught Warhol photography, while Warhol taught Makos his eye for art. The two of them travelled the world together, exploring one city after another. Celebrating the professional and personal partnership between the two artists, WARHOL MAKOS: ANDY LOVES HK features an installation above the fountain at the LANDMARK ATRIUM that showcases five major thematic lenses including Andy Loves HK, Andy in Nature, Andy Rowing, Andy: Modelling Days and Lady Warhol. The visual journey continues on the second floor with an exhibition that features 11 sets of never-before-seen photographs of Andy Warhol taken by Makos in Hong Kong. Each set will comprise an original black-and-white photograph as well as a duo-tone filter print that Makos created exclusively for this exhibition.
From 1st to 12th September, the WARHOL MAKOS: ANDY LOVES HK installation is on view above the fountain area at LANDMARK ATRIUM, while original photographs by Makos will be exhibited on the second floor of the mall and inside SAUVEREIGN Landmark, Shop 203B from 1st – 18th September 2022.
