In Jackson’s 3rd solo painting exhibition in Hong Kong, Cycles, he presents a collection of paintings teemed with a raw yet reserved energy, where he examines the human psyche and the recurring cyclical stages of struggle and serenity through the myth of the hero exemplified in various ancient cultures. The diversity of subject matter, genres, and techniques in this exhibition parallels the multiplicity and complexity of themes he explores through his work such as grief, catharsis, conquest and elation. Cycles, provides the viewer with a comprehensive survey of Jackson’s unique, highly expressive, disturbing and seductive output from 2018 to 2020.
