Vanishing Hong Kong
Exploring Abandoned Heritage Buildings
In more ways than one, Hong Kong as we know it is vanishing.
From grand Hakka mansion, century-old European villa to the iconic Shaw Studios – the heart of Hollywood of the Far East - gorgeous heritage buildings in Hong Kong are being bulldozed and redeveloped into more shopping malls and high-rise luxury apartments as we speak.
Urban explorers are racing against the clock to document and preserve the collective memory of the city’s vanishing heritage before these historic buildings are lost forever.
This exhibition is intended to raise awareness of the the vanishing Hong Kong heritage and the urban explorers' role in documenting and preserving them.
