WURE AREA is happy to present ‘(Original)’, a new upcoming group exhibition.
‘(Original)’ is an exhibition involving art graduates from different institutions, showing their non-graduation-work through an open call and encouraging them to share their distinct realisation of “original”. It can gather as a temporary archive that invites the audience to randomly share the interpretation, analysis and discussion of different “Original”.
37 artworks with different mediums joined together in WURE AREA are all from different standpoints of local emerging artists, whose works witnessed the trace of struggles. The works’ concepts may focus on personal propositions, simple tests on materials, freeflow creation or just showing different perspectives of interaction with mediums. These created diversity in the temporary archive of “Original”. These (original) are impermanent and shift over time, hard to preserve. Archive of it, an eternal memory that can be elongated, is not specific to time and space. Every artist’s experience through their growth can bring them to different focus points, styles and other artistic stances. After the graduation show, artists look back and reflect on their decisions, creative needs and reasons of art practice.
New flavours of “Original” are being discovered continually. Like blue cheese, not all people are fond of its strong flavour while lovers can’t resist. This time, all flavours are mixed together and united as a feast in a macroscopic view.

I write about every exhibition I went to, and I go to almost every exhibition there is in Hong Kong. I shoot and edit my own photos for this blog.
I enjoy visiting artists and seeing their studios. I show them the way I see them, hopefully revealing something interesting.
I’m a proudly independent art blogger with no affiliation to any organisation. I blog because I love art and support the artists.
