Sunsmith is pleased to present Special Summer Exhibition and Workshop “Old Meets New – A Story of Old Mine Cut Diamonds”, which will run from 21 July to 31 August 2023. The themed exhibition with experiential workshops invites visitors to explore the design, history, and value of old mine cut diamonds, and showcases the allure of its timeless beauty through historical books, prints and maps, a variety of loose diamonds, and over 10 pieces of jewellery created by Sunsmith. As part of the ongoing series by DAWN Jewellery and Sunsmith, the immersive experience will encompass a tour of the exhibition, along with a hands-on workshop to learn about the process in creating old mine cut diamonds.
Old mine cut diamonds continue to be highly sought-after by jewellery enthusiasts around the world. Contrary to the uniformity of modern round brilliants, the old mine cut’s distinctive shape and vintage charm makes them a much-coveted choice for collectors looking for one-of-a-kind engagement rings and jewellery. Through the workshop experience, participants will learn the cutting techniques used to create these diamonds, the factors that contribute to their value, and why people continue to seek them out today.
Each workshop session will last for one hour and can accomodate a maximum of 4-6 pax. The workshop is on a first come first served basis, please register for the workshop here (available for registration on 20 July 2023)
