Karl Ting: Who Are You? at 13a New Street Art Gallery

  • Hong Kong Hong Kong (map)

In human relationships, communication can sometimes inadvertently hurt the other party. The metaphor of tongues clashing represents finding the right balance in a relationship, where neither party is harmed. However, if one side in the relationship cannot maintain this balance, the proverbial needle may end up piercing the other. Karl metaphorized love as honey, as love and honey share common qualities. Love is as sweet as honey, and has a sticky, viscous texture, just like honey. One must remain connected to their beloved, even sticking together like glue, inseparable.
