The Floating World at Ben Brown Fine Arts
Literally mean “pictures of the floating world”, Ukiyo-e prints depicted everyday scenes of Edo period Japan. They were mass produced and enormously popular while also being meant for the common people and not for nobility.
Art works showcased in this exhibition mainly reflect on the passage of time and fluidity of perception and memory, but also on the poetry hidden in the everyday.
Participating artists: Cheng Ting Ting, Vivian Ho, Li Ning, Nicole Wong, and Yan Wai Yin.
