Stephen Thorpe: Enter the Forest at the Darkest Point at Galerie Ora-Ora

I have to admit that the title made me think of

“Midway upon the journey of our life
I found myself within a forest dark”

which I feel also makes sense but I can’t really put my finger on it.
What is guaranteed at the exhibition by Stephen Thrope? Marvelously thick layers of paint, profound interest in psychological state, various allusions and references. And of course a bit of good old surrealistic confusion: try to imagine that depicted tapestries in those interiors are actually hanging on the walls and you’ll get not only a vertigo but the new perspective as well.
