Portrait of Dazzle: Shigeki Matsuyama at Quiet Gallery
Referring to dazzle camouflage used primarily in WWI to mislead and confuse rather than conceal Portraits of Dazzle can be seen as a form of social masking, a manner of hiding your feelings and identity in plain sight. With paintings, the eyes remain the evocative windows to the soul although the eyes of a sculpture are mirrors in which one could only see its own reflection.
