Jakkai Siributr: Outworn at Flowers Gallery

Jakkai Siributr: Outworn at Flowers Gallery

A satellite exhibition to the main retrospective happening at CHAT/The Mills. Exhibited five tapestries are constructed of Thai uniforms of service industry workers. Largely relying on tourism as a vital part of the economy, Thailand suffered through the pandemic times, and even after opening its borders, it will take a lot of time for the country to recover — we all know that. But there are the real people behind these headlines-style phrases, people who lost their jobs, businesses that went bankrupt, premises that were closed for good, projects that never were finished. Beautiful and poignant works.

Exhibition period: 15.11—6.01
Gallery address: 49 Tung Street, Sheung Wan
