Sounds akin to English word “flesh” the tittle of the show actually translates as “arrow” from French. Sharp as an arrow, poignant as a wound, the works are personal for both artists and very resonating for the viewers.
Using her body as an object for cyanotypes created while she was caring for her mother Michele Chu documented flowing streams of time and memories. Lee Eunsae creates paintings inspired by the usage of hair removal cream (if you have ever tried it these paintings would have a smell to you). The paintings looked like snowy mountains and valleys, and with the reference to the implied female body standards and perception of beauty they made me think about body as landscape idea.

When: 25 August—24 September
