Okay, so after this cheerful beginning let me indulge you in my extremely serious and very scientific conspiracy theory about this sculptures. Seemingly cute and funny they have some unsettling haunting qualities. That’s because artist made some of them from discarded old wood—over 100 hundred years old—so now they are actually tsukumogami, yōkai. Should that stop you from liking and collecting them? Nope, but now everything makes sense.
