Group exhibition “Words” at Pékin Fine Arts
Rare chance to see an exhibition of text-based art by Iranian contemporary artists.
You don’t need to know Farsi to enjoy the beauty of these artworks, but I wish I knew if any of those Rubik’s cubes with Rubaiyat by Omar Khayyam has one of my favorites by him:
I enter the mosque. Late and deaf hour.
I’m not in a thirst for a miracle and not with a prayer:
Once I pulled the rug out of here,
And it has worn out; it should be different.
(It’s not his most popular one; also it Russian translation sounds way better.)
Curated by Yas Mostashari Chang, Nazila Nobashari.
Exhibition period: 26.11 — 5.02
Gallery address: 16/F, Union Industrial Building, Wong Chuk Hang
