Yin Xiuzhen: Everywhere at Pace Gallery

Presenting works from 2008 to 2022 united by the theme of resilience and change, capture and preservation of memories—both personal and societal. Yin Xiuzhen masterfully uses all qualities and aspects of materials she is experimenting with.
Striking contrast: not only the obvious texture differences between porcelain and fabric, but juxtaposition of rapid transformation of ceramic and the gradual tear and wear of fragments of clothes. Soothing similarities: not only the waves and folds of fabric and porcelain surface, but ability to hold the form. Lyrical rhymes: ephemeral nature of fruits and plants and the impermanence of mirror reflections.
