Exhibition “Vibrant” by Shozo Shimamoto and AU (Art Unidentified) at Whitestone Gallery

In 1954 Shimamoto co-founded the avant-garde art group ‘Gutai’, which influenced enormous amount of Japanese and world artists (also giving art bloggers the possibility to bloviate in galleries “O, this is sooo Gutai!”). Gutai manifesto urged artists "to go beyond abstraction" and "to pursue enthusiastically the possibilities of pure creativity", so the approach and results are always radical.
