Michael Miller: Between the Lines at Gallery Jeeum
Evoking the smell of rust and salt, the rhythm of shades and arches of cloisters. Reminding of dazzle camouflage and barber’s pole, portholes and targets. Provoking the desire to touch the surface and feel the texture. It’s a wonderful exhibition that can bring back childhood memories—in case your childhood happened to be connected with seaports—but also can give you a major intellectual pride—in case your curiosity happened to lure you into wiki rabbit hole about types of camouflage used in WWI.
Oh, and the paintings are beautiful. It’s considered almost wrong to say that in the artworld, I know, but luckily I am not a professional art critic so I can use this highly unprofessional term.
