In Zhang Yanzi’s work, “Her 24 Solar Terms,” her objective wasn’t to solve any particular issues, but rather to align with her understanding of the “24 Solar Terms” within traditional Chinese culture and their relevance to her own life. Each chapter, from the onset of Spring symbolizing women’s fertility to the subtle changes of weather throughout the year, depicts the life of a woman in a beautifully simple manner.
“Her 24 Solar Terms” has been featured in prominent exhibitions such as “Tradition and Modernity—Representative Works by Modern and Contemporary Chinese Artists” in 2022, the “No Gender” Group Exhibition of Women Artists at SEN Museum, Chongqing in the same year, and “ORIENTAL WISDOM”: Contemporary Art Themed on Chinese Traditional Culture at Zhejiang Art Museum, Hangzhou in 2023. This year, the artwork will be showcased for the first time at Ora-Ora, inviting audiences to delve into the fascinating exploration of the “24 Solar Terms’.
