Browsing through Zao Wou-Ki’s Close Friends, who are giving him likes?
The tracing of a great artist's creative career often reveals that the social currents of the time, their close friends and family, and their personal life all deeply influence the artist's creative output. Conversely, when we delve into an artist's biography and immerse ourselves in their life or the artistic circles they inhabited, we are often able to uncover a cross-sectional view of the artistic landscape of that era.
In response to the Greater Bay Area Art Week celebration, Poly Auction Hong Kong is set to present an exhibition centered around Zao Wou-Ki's circle of friends, bringing to light the artistic milieu of this master who straddled Eastern and Western traditions. This exhibition aims to enrich the local artistic ecosystem and offer art enthusiasts and collectors a glimpse into the artistic journey of this towering figure, situated at the intersection of Eastern and Western art history.
Venue address: Poly Gallery Hong Kong, 7/F, One Pacific Place, Admiralty
I write about every exhibition I went to, and I go to almost every exhibition there is in Hong Kong. I shoot and edit my own photos for this blog.
I enjoy visiting artists and seeing their studios. I show them the way I see them, hopefully revealing something interesting.
I’m a proudly independent art blogger with no affiliation to any organisation. I blog because I love art and support the artists.
