Most people know William Lim as an award-winning architect, as well as a renowned Hong Kong collector; However, Lim is also an artist, whose talents have become well-known during the pandemic. In fact, Lim likes to introduce himself as ‘architect, artist and collector, not necessary in that order’. Focusing on largescale installations, and recently work on canvas, he has held a solo exhibition, ‘A Year of Lost and Found’ at Grotto Fine Art in 2021. His present solo show at H Queen’s is a small concise presentation of five expressionistic paintings that reflect his personal stories. The title, ‘Willows Dark Flowers Bright’, is inspired by Song Dynasty Chinese poem, which alludes to the serendipity of new discoveries.
