Curated by Barbie Lam, Subtle Rhyme features ten oil paintings created by the artist, Wang Huiwei, whose works from the period of 2018 to 2023.. Inspired by Paul Cézanne’s use of geometry, Henri Matisse’s use of vibrant colour and form, and poetries, Wang’s works concern about insignificant and negligible daily objects and scenes to resonate feelings and emotions of citizens who are living in today’s urban city under pressure.
Under the theme of Subtle Rhyme, the featured artworks not only express subtle changes and moments in daily lives, but also ask viewers to explore the enchantment behind these subtle pieces.
