“5354” Master of Arts in Fine Arts Program Graduate Exhibition

The Department of Fine Arts of the Chinese University of Hong Kong is delighted to present 5354 – the Master of Arts in Fine Arts Program Graduate Exhibition from 15th July to 29 July 2023 in the Art Museum of the Chinese University of Hong Kong. The theme of the exhibition is 5354. 5354 in Cantonese is a homophonic pun meaning both ambiguous state (neither three nor four) and enlightenment (on life and death).

“5354” is a metaphor for a state of ambiguity, as if we are stumbling between bewilderment and enlightenment, faltering in our search for answers to life and death. The exhibition will showcase the works of our 18 graduates. Our graduates came from different walks of life with their own life story and experiences. During these two years, they have inspired each other in art and in life during the discussions with teachers and other classmates, and this exhibition will show the result of their growth through their artworks.
