The 2023 graduation exhibition of the Fine Arts Department of The Chinese University of Hong Kong is titled “Before It Billows Out”. Being trapped in a bewildering maze, this year’s graduates reflect upon their loss of faith. Every work symbolizes a single water droplet — despite its seemingly weak potency, together they create ripple in the stagnant water. Unfolding the beneficence and malevolence in our society, they shed light on the urgency of responding to the present in the form of art, standing their ground and staying sensitive in perceiving the world nowadays.
