Marlon Mullen (b.1963) has an autistic spectrum disorder and expressive aphasia and since 1986 he’s a resident of NIAD art centre (Nurturing Independence Through Artistic Development) in Richmond, California. Rarely using spoken or written language in his daily life, Marlon has found a way to interact with the outer world through the medium of painting the front pages of art magazines and auctions catalogues. Using rich and energetic brushstrokes, the artists reveales his strong desire to communicate his real inner nature, a personal story made of vibrant colours.
