Microwave International New Media Arts Festival 2020 returns this year with the curatorial theme Sharp Chronicles. Responding to the theme, this year's Main Exhibition brings together works from international artists, including Lawrence Abu Hamdan (Lebanon), Forensic Architecture (UK), Don’t Follow the Wind (Japan, US, Italy), Tao Ya-Lun (Taiwan), Critical Art Ensemble (US),
Tactical Tech (Germany), and more. Through the interaction between art and technology, the works look into issues such as the current application of voice analysis as lie detection method and the arbitrary nature of its verdict; the investigation of tear gas usage; misinformation; environmental triage; virtual reality vs. the real world etc.
Registration is required for the preview. There are three one-hour timeslots to choose from. Quota will be applied to limit visitor flow and precautionary measures will be implemented to ensure public health.
*During the 19:00-20:00 session, Berlin-based Tactical Tech will lead a virtual tour on their work The Glass Room (Misinformation Edition). Please sign up for the 19:00-20:00 session if you are interested in joining the tour.
