Louis Wong: Resilience at Yrellag Gallery

  • Hong Kong Hong Kong (map)

Yrellag Gallery is pleased to present Resilience. This exhibition features 22 enchanting portrait drawings on paper by Louis Wong. This series, with the theme of Resilience, shows the strength of each character as they face the challenges of their various environments and encounters in life. Louis Wong is a self-made artist who makes painting as his language. He gets inspiration from imagination and role-plays with his niece, and his artwork is rich in ideas. His work is introspective, yet he still seeks to communicate with the chaotic world outside through portraiture. He tells stories of human beings struggling with manifold thoughts and tensions in their innermost souls. The colors he uses are bold and confident. As a result, his characters are at once remote and close to life. No matter what personality characteristics they possess, their remarkable resilience shines during the ups and downs. Resilience captures the artist's observations of the human condition. The exhibition will be on view from 17 January to 31 January 2023.
