Works from Li Mingchang are often inspired by historical events or features, and the absurdity of reality makes him constantly look back on his past feelings, thus transforming them into paintings.
When he was asked if he was looking for anything through painting, he said, "I'm not looking for an ultimate answer or a full stop, sometimes I just want to feel awfully good." This is the unique humor of Li Mingchang.
The words "Zhang” “Hui” present the readability of his work with the people, and we never want to find a specific result. In these ‘Episodes’ and ‘Reflections’, we can pick it up to read through again with the texts behind it intertwined and mingled. It is intriguing enough to ask questions like this.
On February 10th, iisuArt Space will take you to peruse each painting for returning to the historical scene with Li Mingchang, where we must be on site.

I write about every exhibition I went to, and I go to almost every exhibition there is in Hong Kong. I shoot and edit my own photos for this blog.
I enjoy visiting artists and seeing their studios. I show them the way I see them, hopefully revealing something interesting.
I’m a proudly independent art blogger with no affiliation to any organisation. I blog because I love art and support the artists.
