Jun Takahashi (b. 1969, Gunma, Japan) is an artist and the internationally renowned fashion designer of pioneering label UNDERCOVER. The fashion brand’s undying status as a cult favourite for the past three decades has cemented Takahashi as one of Japan’s most important contemporary creatives, and his pursuits in the fine arts remain closely intertwined with his work in fashion.

Takahashi’s paintings mirror the core elements of his past creative work, reflecting the uncanny and fantastical with a graphic sensibility that nods to the aesthetics of various fringe cultures that have challenged ideas of beauty and convention. Takahashi established UNDERCOVER in 1990 and has been presenting his collections at Paris Fashion Week since 2002. Recent activities include the solo exhibition “They See More Than You Can See” at GALLERY TARGET, Tokyo (2023), and a solo presentation at Tokyo Gendai 2024.
