Group Exhibition "The Body And The City" at Goethe-Institut

  • No.2 Harbour Road Wan Chai, Hong Kong Island Hong Kong SAR China (map)

Goethe-Institut Hongkong is pleased to present a series of programmes under the umbrella topic of "The Body and the City" from August

Curatorial Statement:
One must agree that the relationship between the people's bodies and the cities is indivisible and complex at any moment. Human body starts a conversation with the urban space not only with its physical reaction but also with its memories, individually and collectively.

When the city becomes the main body of the narrativity, rather than being barely the space where people's reactions take place, the discussions are no longer necessarily carried out in a geographical and chronological manner. "The Body and The City" presents selected interdisciplinary art works in considering both the body and the city as a subject rather than an object, aims to investigate the traces and experiences within the containers which are made up of flesh and concrete.
