a|n Gallery is pleased to present “Tracing the Unseen”, a collection of new oil paintings by Hong Kong painter Fung Chim, from 5 May to 20 May.

With a liking to wander around rarely frequented places to observe things that pique his interest and imagine ways of depicting them, Fung Chim takes an interest in studying trees, leaves as well as old buildings that are linked to culture and history. The different patterns of brick walls and the styles of stone windows, all unique in their own right, seem to tell us a story about the history of aesthetics. With this new collection, Fung Chim leads viewers onto a journey to discover the seemingly déjà vu yet unseen scenery of our city. Using fine brushstrokes and ingenious composition, he puts together a poetic pictorial world that strikes a balance between naturalism and imagination.
