Ora-Ora is excited to announce a landmark exhibition at its new Tai Kwun gallery space, a blockbuster solo show by renowned Colombian artist Fernando Botero. “Living with Botero” will comprise paintings and drawings never before seen in Hong Kong, most of which the artist lived with and counted among his personal favourites.
A master of colour and volume, Colombian artist Fernando Botero’s renowned paintings and sculptures immediately evoke the colourful traditions and complex history of his native land. Following his landmark solo show Botero in China at the China Art Museum in Shanghai (2016), Ora-Ora will stage an exhibition at its new space in Tai Kwun comprising a vivid and diverse array of Botero’s paintings, drawings and sculptures to Hong Kong for the first time. Recreating the artist’s apartment in the gallery, the show includes several paintings which hung in Botero’s home. Botero-themed events will be organized alongside the show, and specially designed merchandise will be available as a commemoration.
