Yrellag Gallery and Comme Chan Studio are honored to present Comme Chan's solo exhibition Part I –‘Nourishing Gratitudes’ during the Grains Rain ("Gu Yu": 穀雨).
The Grains Rain ("Gu Yu": 穀雨) is one of the twenty-four solar periods of the Chinese calendar, which heralds the blossoming of all flowers and green plants that, together with the sun, form the protective shield for our soils. Chan hopes that the beauty shared in this exhibition shed light on ideals, wishes, and aesthetics — to nourish our soul to live courageously and to be grateful and comforted by the endless journey of appreciation.
This exhibition features Chan's realistic-style oil paintings and is also the prelude of Chan's solo exhibition at the Hong Kong Visual Arts Center this May. Paintings presented in this exhibition Part I – ‘Nourishing Gratitudes’ are reflective practice that remind the artist of inspirational lessons from her memories and sentimental experiences in life.
