Chung Tai-fu has been involving in artistic creation for over 40 years. He uses many materials and techniques of different varieties. Chung Tai-fu originally loved to use intaglio printmaking with etching techniques. However, he became obsessed with the plasticity and expressiveness of mineral pigment later on for the artist’s mission and characteristics of mineral pigment carrying historical meaning. Chung Tai-fu hopes to share with art lovers the exploration from prints to pigment painting.

Chung Tai-fu graduated from the Department of Fine Arts of The Chinese University of Hong Kong. He obtained his MFA degree at the Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music in 1990. He obtained many local and international awards which included the Drawing and Printmaking Awards of 'Hong Kong Contemporary Art Biennial Exhibition' in 1985 and 1989 respectively, the Printmaker of the Year Award by the Hong Kong Artists’ Guild in 1992, and the Silver Award of the 'Tokyo International Print Exhibition' in 1993. He has held solo art exhibitions in Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, Tokyo, London and Vancouver. His works are collected by art museums and private collectors.
