Time becomes increasingly compact nowadays due to our daily fast pace of living. Land development does not result in more living space. Technologies bring speed and convenience, but at the cost of reduced human mobility and sensitivity. Machine developments push civilization forward, but simultaneously cause damage to nature and the environment. Fewer people would raise concerns for others as beneficial stakeholders. When every level drops to half—mobility, sensitivity, understanding, trust, and the ability to care—how should we react to this situation of “Semi-being”?
Behind the energy exchange between materials or virtual “generative” matters, unknown forms and structures appear. These unknowns, in origins and changes of substances, reflect the ever-changing karma in life. Perhaps, while standing on the “Semi-being” state, it is time to rethink whether human beings are evolving or degrading, in a sublime or depraved state, in evolution or regression. Could we actually create a definition, or would nature give us an expression? Let us wait and see.

I write about every exhibition I went to, and I go to almost every exhibition there is in Hong Kong. I shoot and edit my own photos for this blog.
I enjoy visiting artists and seeing their studios. I show them the way I see them, hopefully revealing something interesting.
I’m a proudly independent art blogger with no affiliation to any organisation. I blog because I love art and support the artists.
