Leo Gallery is pleased to present Awaiting, Bian Qing’s first solo exhibition in Hong Kong. The show opens this Thursday on 6 June and runs through 11 July.

Bian’s latest body of work features a series of small scale still life paintings depicting everyday objects - from green bell peppers and apples to vases and candlestands. Within the compositions, the objects appear to float, making it challenging for viewers to determine their relative sizes and weights. This obscures the initially apparent information, inviting varied interpretations and prompting a sense of visual ambiguity.
