The Chinese culture of fragrance has a long and rich heritage. Witnessing the passage of time, fragrances are a portal to history that evokes memories marked by scents.
For the exhibition “The Hong Kong Jockey Club Series: Fragrance of Time — In Search of the Chinese Art of Scent”, the Hong Kong Museum of Art has invited local artists Max Cheng, Cherie Cheuk and So Wing Po to create new installation artworks that make use of various fragrance materials, traditional 𝘨𝘰𝘯𝘨𝘣𝘪 painting and electronic devices, oscillating between poetic imagination and dispassionate rationality to offer fresh interpretations of Chinese fragrance culture. In the talk, the three artists will share the inspirations and stories behind their newly created installation artworks.
