“The world is Yin intertwined with Yang, and the interaction between the two creates harmony.”
From February 17th to March 11th 2023, SIN SIN FINE ART is presenting its new exhibition — Anti-Fragile. We are presenting 3 artists and their works using 3 mediums: Photography, design & sculpture. Different mediums employed by the artists echoed each other in strength and vitality also offers their perspectives on how anti-fragility is being addressed through art while using different contexts:
Society: Alun’s is an exploration of the impact of technology on society. The intention of this exhibit is to provide a visual narrative of faith in a digital future in which humanity teeters on the cusp of fully merging with technology.
Materiality: Ousmane’s work on metal transforms what would be seen as most robust of the materials into what could be perceived thank to the design work as a fragile creation.
Sustainability: Clive’s ingenuity in using upcycled material breathes new life into mundane objects of our consumerist society.
It is no coincidence that these 3 perspectives are from African artists, a continent where one may tend to describe anti-fragility as “informed optimism”, through its ability to cope with numerous challenges while building stronger foundations to deal with the unknown & thrive.
Anti-Fragile exhibition aims to offer an inspiring and positive note to our ability to thrive and grow when exposed to volatility, randomness, disorder, and stressors risk, and uncertainty. The artists’ medium and styles are unorthodoxy in genuine, as if they are children observing the world. To quote the Tao De Jing, “the world is Yin intertwined with Yang, and the interaction between the two creates harmony.”
