3812 Gallery Hong Kong is proud to present a solo exhibition by British contemporary artist Ann Carrington, the artist’s first solo show in Hong Kong, from 15th June to 14th July.
The exhibition will showcase a comprehensive selection of Carrington’s oeuvre from the past three years. The exhibition features three new artworks by Carrington which pay tribute to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, bouquets of repurposed everyday objects such as silver-plated spoons, pewter tankards, silver vases and plates, and a large-scale mixed media sculpture with exquisite pearls, brooches, and tiaras.
Ann Carrington graduated from the Sculpture Department of the Royal College of Art in 1987 and has since been pushing the definition of sculpture through her choice of materials. Well known for her ability to transform ordinary everyday objects into extraordinary and stunningly beautiful sculptural works, Carrington brings attention to, and celebrates, the everydayness of modern life that is often overlooked in the fast-paced society of mass production, revealing the histories and stories hidden behind mundane objects.
