“But Yulia, this is so far away!” I hear some of you saying. Totally worth it. I fell in love with one particular work of this artist a year ago at the Fresh Trend art graduates group exhibition, so imagine how happy I was when I saw his works at Grotto’s booth at Art Basel. His line reminds me a bit of Foujita, his work with colour — of Schiele, but Xie Chengxuan has his own unique voice and visual language, so keep an eye on him (and visit the exhibition).
