I enjoy visiting artists and seeing their studios. I show them the way I see them, hopefully revealing something interesting.

He was such an art punk, wasn’t he? Actually most of Gutai artists were, no matter what generation they belonged to. Gutai Manifesto stated things like “Gutai art does not transform material but brings it to life. Gutai art does not falsify the material” and expected radical and sincere pursuit of the possibilities of pure artistic creativity. Sadaharu Horio followed this path with joy, curiosity and enthusiasm, devoting himself to artistic practice with consistency and boundless energy.
Sounds pretty punk to me.
