Lui Shou-kwan: Hong Kong Landscapes at Alisan Fine Arts.
Looking at traditional ink paintings I usually expect to see views from mountain areas of China with magnificent waterfalls or misty cliffs, rocks and gnarly pine trees, or tiny pavilion on the hillside. Or just a grandiose and aesthetically perfected synthetic landscape with all of the above. That’s why it’s so heartwarming to recognize some of the places even though Hong kong has definitely changed since 50s and 60s.
