Cells That Fire Together Wire Together at 7 Mallory
Honestly came to see new works by GayBird whom I adore from the very first performance “18 Scenes in a Cage” that I saw four years ago, but was enchanted by the video work by Kachi Chan. The major theme of the exhibition is the memory formation, storage and recollection. Neurons that work together by forming memory will be activated together, bringing sudden flashbacks and associations. But our memories are formed under specific circumstances and can be affected and influenced by the enormous amount of things. Changing mindset or opinion on something, adding strong emotions to the memory, learning about other people’s versions of event will change the way you remember what actually had happened.
(The only complaint is it’s very loud)
