Ren Ri: Yuansu by Pearl Lam at K11 MUSEA
Personally I think this is the perfect way to showcase intricate honeycomb sculptures: bolstering by surrounding human-made hives, juxtaposed to glass and metal, and obviously rhyming in the repetition and structure.
Co-created with bees the sculptures are an intriguing take on the human/nature relationships (and human forces interfering with nature — the artist is changing the orientation of cubes in the process of honeycomb building). The only thing that I would probably add is the sound of buzzing bees slowly turning into the sound of buzzing city.
Exhibition period: 23 June–31 July
Venue address: Shop 610, L6, K11 MUSEA, Tsim Sha Tsui
