Kowloon Walled City: romanticized gloomy dystopian legend and home to 35,000 people at its peak, which has made it one of the most densely populated neighbourhood in the world. A tight community and an unlawful place ignored by all authorities, ruled by triad gangs. Filthy slums and growing-by-demand of its denizens maze-town. A scary and risky place to visit and a constant inspiration for movies and video games. Demolished with a park being built on top of it, as if Hong Kong was too ashamed to acknowledge its existence and still an important part of Hong Kong spirit. All of these and nothing at the same time. See — it’s a legend.
